Putting God First in Living and Giving

first

Do we worship idols? The answer may surprise you.

During the month of October, our church will hear about God’s generosity and our response as we experience our stewardship program, first: putting GOD first in living and giving, developed by author and Pastor Mike Slaughter of Ginghamsburg Church in Ohio. There will be opportunities in worship, in small groups, in youth and children’s classes.

Our Stewardship Campaign will culminate with a Commitment Service and luncheon on Sunday, October 27 beginning at 10:00 am.

HUMC Tag Sale

junk-clip-art

We will be holding our annual Tag Sale on Saturday, August 31st from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  So, start cleaning out those attics, garages, basements and sheds and bring your unwanted, unused but good condition items to the church.  We would prefer to have items delivered between August 25th and August 29th.  If you need to bring them before that date, please check in at the office for direction to the classroom where items will be stored.  We are sorry, but we cannot accept TV’s, computers, monitors, air conditioners or other large appliances.  Disposal of these items when they do not sell is much too expensive.

Members who would like to help out on the day of the sale or with set up and pricing on Thursday or Friday should contact Joanna Page or watch for sign up clipboards at church.  We hope you will come on down on August 31st with your friends and neighbors for some fabulous finds!  Remember, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”!
